Thanks to a Calling Card
Harvesters unknowingly owes its existence to a calling card given to Ptr. Andrew which leads him to Joy dela Cruz who introduces him to a group of artists at Burbank. The first bible study was around 1987.
What’s in a name?
The name “Harvesters” was suggested during one of their bible studies. The inspiration was Matthew 9: 37-38.
“Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.’”
A Worshipping Church
The new church’s first assignment as a ministry in Morayta. The worship service was held within the University Belt and Harvesters ministered to the students there.
Harvesters then moved to Reverie, to Music Museum(1990), to Music Hall, to Texas Chicken, to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (1995), to the State Center II Bldg (2000) , then finally to the Aguana Bldg in Gilmore.
A Caring Church
Harvesters has setup various cell groups in homes, offices and schools. These were named as “Care Groups,” which is distinctly Harvesters. The purpose of these groups is to study the Word, to minister to people, to share to them the good news and to extend the fellowship of the believers out of the four walls of the Sunday venue.
Harvesters also had family oriented activities yearly which are the “family camps.”
An Equipping Church
Harvesters held discipleship courses to equip its members. For leaders, it had the “Macedonia Ministry” which was a course for people who would stand on the gap, who would volunteer to be sent to minister to people.
An Evangelistic Church
Harvesters held several mission exposures in Lubang and Romblon. It also had outreaches in the Inner City (Paco, Singalong, Tondo), in Baguio, in Pangarap, and in the Central Business District (Ortigas LIME Light).
