All graduates were recognized last sunday, which was coincidentally Sonshine Kids Sunday. There were several who graduated coming from various levels of education.
Children from the Mandaluyong CENEP also presented some songs to the congregation.
Bro. Orlan on the otherhand concluded the Spiritual Gifts Sermon Series with a discussion on John 15:1-8. Here our Lord Jesus uses the analogy of the vine, gardener, fruit and branches to illustrate and clarify spiritual concepts. God the Father as the gardener is looking for fruit as every gardener does. We as branches need to be attached to the vine, which is Jesus, in order to bear fruit. To be attached means to abide – to obey Jesus’ command, which is to love one another. Fruit here can mean two things – character (the fruit of the Spirit) and a harvest of souls (which is expected of someone having the character produced by the Spirit). Where does the Spiritual Gifts fit in this picture? These are implemented as we abide in Christ and they result in fruit which God seeks.
