The worship team ministry represented by three persons each in HCF churches(main, tondo and manila) were given a chance to be a part of the “Music,Voice and Worship Clinic Module Batch 21” that was conducted by Ptr. Alan Elman of Abot Kamay Foundation – a foundation that has a heart for worship seminars through singing and playing instruments, may be as a single worshipper to God or in a group such as a worship team with worship leaders, back up singers, choir and a full band. The seminar was held at the Word of Life World Mission Church in Mandaluyong City on January-March 2007. This was lasted for eight sessions. Each session consists of teaching in Voice, Music Theory and Worship:A Believer’s lifestyle – one hour for each class activities. Different churches participated in and we were able also to fellowship with them. We were grouped according to our voice range if you are alto,soprano, base and tenor. In each session we were able to learn and enhance our knowledge in Voice – the proper breathing, vowel and consonant singing, phrasing, dynamics and performance level. In Music Theory – the music foundations, music as an art form, music as a language, music as a system, music as fun, music as business and music as a lifestyle. In Worship – A Believer’s lifestyle – A matter of heart love, a matter of faith and a matter of action. They’ve given us each session lot of exercises, seatworks, assignments and teambuilding that includes the voice blending for a worship song entitled “Unshakable kingdom” by Sandy Patti which was presented to our graduation night on our last and final session. They also given us the certificate of completion proving that we finished the whole session. Thank God!!!!…
On the conclusion we’ve learned that our understanding of who God is to us will determine our timing of worship and our expressions is based on the spirit and truth. Worship is solely based on relationship, relationship involves union, union starts with friendship. Friendship happens because of communication. Communication to our father is through prayers! Prayer, in its simplest essence, is communication from man’s spirit to God’s spirit, while worship is communion between two spirits and communication greatly aids communion. It is safe to say that the prayerless saint is never a worshipper!
